| 1. Once set up inside the Village, you are in the 18th century. All items used are to reflect this philosophy. BELLEVILLE is a nine-day event, so please remain in period clothing at all times. First-person portrayal is encouraged--the length of this event caters to in-depth character development. Participants might take this opportunity to work together on interpretive techniques. This is not necessarily a one-on-one with the public but it can be two, three or more interacting between themselves and the public or even a village interacting as a whole with the public. 2. All items used, bartered or placed for sale should reflect the c1764 time-frame. 3. Bartering among BELLEVILLE villagers is encouraged. 4. All food and drink visible to the public and participants must be appropriate and in/on period cookware/servingware. 5. Unusual apparel or accouterments should be bolstered with appropriate sources/scenarios--e.g., cigars may be arguable (you should have a good story of how you came by them and why you adopted using them). Bring your documentation with you so we may all learn. 6. Three cardinal rules: a) pets only with special permission and proof of current vaccinations; b) children are the responsibility of their parents; and c) public drunkards will spend time in the stocks. 7. The frontier is a cultural margin--as is the time-frame between two wars. BELLEVILLE is an opportunity for growth--whom shall you be? |
